Why I bought a Late 2013 MacBook Pro in 2020!

I’ve spoken before about how much I love my 5K iMac for editing, but recently, I’ve had an increasing need for a portable workstation solution. After looking at several options like the Dell XPS, and the Razer blade (curtesy of my friend Sidney Baker Green lol), as well as some of the new MacBook Pro’s (especially that new 16″), I eventually settled on the Late 2013 MacBook Pro with Retina display – more specifically, the top-end 13″ model. But why?

While these videos are completely free for you to watch, they take a considerable amount of time for me to make, so I’d be very grateful if you used my Amazon Affiliate link. (It doesn’t cost you a penny lol):

  1. i am from russia, my friends, say me please.
That boy fack with mans ?
    or I'm mistaken

  2. I have just bought a 15" version but cannot get it to upgrade to anything above Mavericks. Is it possible or did I buy a pig in a poke? Thanks in advance

  3. I bought this model in 2013 in the US. Still using it in 2020, it is still scratchless. Hardly got heat up and neither has any issues straight 7 years down! I was thinking to buy a used model from 2018,2019, which one do you suggest?

  4. I’m about to spend $950(cad) which is approx $670(usd) on a 2013 15” Macbook Pro. Is this a good deal or am I getting ripped off?

  5. Hey bro, I'm getting a used 2013 macbook pro in a couple days, it's a i5 processor with a 4gb RAM (which I'm planning on upgrading after), is that adequate for editing in your opinion?

  6. I love mine. It's lived through a screen replacement that I was able to do on my own since it's still a modular version. Just put Windows on it as well. If I didn't still have this thing, I would likely spend $300 or whatever they're going for these days instead of paying $2k for a new machine. The screen lives up to current Windows machines that I've seen. For a 7 year lifespan or more, it's definitely been worth the money.

  7. I purchased my Late 2013 MB pro in 2014. Only 8 GB Ram 🙁 …however, it still works perfectly. I only needed to replace the battery in 2018. No other problems ever.

  8. I literally was confused whether you are a boy or a girl. Just mute the voice and boom, you won't recognize he's boy or girl. LOL!

  9. Im thinking about getting one of these laptops for video editing. I've read that its best to have 4gb of video ram for video editing however these models only have 1.5gb. I mostly edit 1080p footage with some basic color grading. Do you think this laptop would be a good option or should I look for something with better graphics? Im fairly new to this so any recommendations would help.

  11. Love your channel bro!
I don't know whether it's a filter, but the colours in all videos are awesome! 😍👌

  12. Do you think that the 15" 2015 MBP is still relevant in 2020 despite slower memory and older CPU?

  13. WOW! Don’t you fear you’ll not be able to upgrade it soon?
What OS is ruining on your MacBook?

  14. The best thing about your videos is the energy you portray. It's really fun to watch and the videos are really meaningful and very well made. 😃😃😃

  15. Commenting on Macbook pro 2013 retina – 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD, 2 GB Nvidia graphics memory. It works good for me

  16. I have always been behind when it comes to technology. i have always been a windows user, but as a musician and youtuber, I have been thinking of going for mac. i have an iphone and ipad. i love using garageband and imovie. any suggestions on what macbook would be a good fit for light – medium video editing, and music recording?

  17. timeline performance is more important than render speeds. i absolutely agree. i can click render and go do something else, but a laggy timeline is super annoying.
